The 2nd largest solar power plant continues to take shape in Creil
A major milestone has just been reached on the site of France’s second largest photovoltaic installation: the second section of the Creil solar farm has just gone into production! The first kilowatt-hours are now being fed into the grid, marking further progress towards the ambitious target of 200 MWp.
With the first unit already in service, a quarter of the total planned capacity is now operational. This gradual deployment illustrates the scale of the project and the momentum behind large-scale renewable energy production.
Ultimately, the solar farm will cover the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 85,000 people – more than the population of many French cities. This remarkable achievement will enable Creil to play a leading role in the local energy transition.
This large-scale project demonstrates the ability of local authorities to make a real commitment to a more sustainable future, by harnessing unused land to produce clean, local and competitive energy.
