In a context where electricity prices are particularly affecting industries, local authorities, and agriculture, these sectors are questioning the energy performance of their buildings. Photosol, a subsidiary of the Rubis Group, announces its acquisition of a majority stake in ENER 5, strengthening its presence in the commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

Based in Tours, in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region, ENER 5 brings its expertise as a photovoltaic developer for industrial rooftops, agricultural buildings, and parking canopies. ENER 5 also complements Photosol’s offering in the areas of energy storage, self-consumption, and electric mobility, including the deployment of charging stations.

With nearly 20 years of experience in renewable energy and energy savings, Willy Blaiteau founded ENER 5 to develop high-performance solutions while minimizing energy consumption without compromising the environmental aspect of projects. The company already has 1.5 MWc in operation, primarily in the industrial and commercial sectors, and 6.3 MWc in development in the agricultural sector.

“This partnership is part of ENER 5’s steady growth and aims to significantly accelerate its development. With Photosol, we share common values of commitment and a desire to actively participate in the challenges of the energy transition. Our complementary expertise will allow us to meet the strong growth of electrification needs and provide innovative solutions,” explains Willy Blaiteau.

A leader in solar energy production for 15 years, through large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic installations, rooftops, and parking canopies, Photosol integrates electricity resale services, in PPA or self-consumption, and has differentiating strengths, particularly its mastery and integrated expertise across the entire value chain.

“Since 2022, Photosol has strengthened its presence in the C&I market with the acquisition of Mobexi. The merger with ENER 5 marks a new milestone and ensures the group’s nationwide presence with a local energy offering for industries, agriculture, and local authorities,” according to Thomas Aubagnac, Deputy CEO of Photosol.

“As local players, we are very pleased to combine our strengths to act together in favor of the energy transition. We are now able to install photovoltaic projects for all types of clients from 100 kWc and provide them with sustainable, innovative, and competitive solutions.”
