Photosol commissions the first section of the Creil photovoltaic plant

Creil, a key facility in the French energy landscape

Located on the former 110 air base in Creil, in the Hauts-de-France region, the Creil photovoltaic plant is establishing itself as a key player in the French energy landscape. At 147 hectares, it will be the second-largest photovoltaic installation in the country. The site is expected to generate an average of 188 GWh per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of 85,000 homes, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the energy transition.

A promising first phase

At the beginning of March, the first unit of the project was commissioned and produced its first kWh! With a capacity of 11.34 MWp, or 5.6% of the total capacity planned for the site, this unit will help to produce 10.7 GWh of electricity each year. This will power around 4,777 people, another step towards achieving the ambitious goals of the energy transition.

A landmark visit to the Creil site

To mark this first commissioning, Photosol was pleased to welcome the Rubis teams for a tour of the site. The visit was an opportunity to appreciate the scale of the project and to see the commitment of the teams involved in turning this ambition into reality.

As well as exploring the site, the visit was also an opportunity for discussion and reflection. Discussions addressed the challenges and opportunities of large-scale solar power, including technological innovations, regulatory issues and the prospects for optimising energy production.
