Photosol extends its photovoltaic roofing offering by acquiring the activities of Mobexi

While the Senate has just voted on new regulations urging industrial and commercial businesses to cover their parking lots with more than 80 spaces with solar panels, Photosol, a subsidiary of the Rubis group, is expanding its offer to include photovoltaic rooftops/awning systems of less than 3 MWc, by acquiring Mobexi’s activities. With all the necessary expertise in development, financing, construction, and operation of solar energy, Photosol is establishing itself as a leading player in the sector with all types of solutions benefiting agricultural operators, businesses, and local authorities.

A strategy of expertise to meet everyone’s energy needs

A reference in the field of solar energy production in France, Photosol has mastered both the installation of ground-mounted solar plants and parking lot canopies, as well as electricity resale services such as PPA or on-site self-consumption when possible.

From project study to maintenance and finally dismantling, Photosol is present across the entire value chain and has been working for 15 years with agricultural operators, local authorities, as well as many commercial and industrial companies. Until now focused on large plants of over 3 MWc, the company has decided to expand its know-how to smaller projects that meet the need for rapid deployment of energy solutions in response to the current crisis.

Thus, the integration of Mobexi’s activities provides Photosol the capacity to develop, build, and operate photovoltaic systems ranging from 100 kWc to 3000 kWc on new buildings, existing rooftops, or even on parking lots that will become a source of energy for their owners. With the addition of Mobexi’s teams, Photosol is now able to offer rental/financing solutions and operation of installations that can generate income or on-site self-consumed energy at very low cost for the owners.

« As local actors, we are very pleased to join forces to work together in favor of the energy transition. With complete solutions enabling the installation of projects starting at 100 kWc, equivalent to about 500 m² of surface, » says Thomas Aubagnac, Director of Business Development at Photosol, «we will be able to provide our clients with sustainable tools to reduce their energy bills. »

« Joining a large group like Photosol marks a new turning point that will allow us to complete our expertise and support the realization and development of our projects, particularly in Gers. We are excited about the prospect of expanding the offer of solar energy solutions to address the strategic challenges of the energy transition in the agricultural, industrial, and tertiary sectors on surfaces that can accommodate plants ranging from 100 kWc to 3 MWc, adds Nicolas Ufferte, General Manager of Mobexi.

In the midst of the energy crisis, the entry of Mobexi is an additional asset in the company’s development strategy. A leader in solar energy production in France, Photosol now meets the need for rapid deployment of energy solutions on smaller projects for the agricultural world, commercial and industrial businesses, and local authorities.
